Cheryl Smitherman, DNP, CNM

Cheryl was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas where she now lives with her husband, Danny, of 25 years and her three children Cameron, Briley & Hunter. 

Prior to entering healthcare, Cheryl received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Texas Woman’s University in 1989.  She was a high school English teacher in both the Hurst-Euless-Bedford and Arlington Independent School Districts, teaching at Trinity High School from 1989 to 1993 at Lamar High School from 1993 to 1996. 

In 1998, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University, and over the past 16 years has worked as a Women’s Services Educator, Labor & Delivery Manager and Labor & Delivery Nurse.  She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2012 from Baylor University and was licensed as a Certified Nurse-Midwife by the Texas Board of Nursing in 2013. 

In May of 2014, Cheryl was employed by Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital to open a prenatal clinic to provide prenatal care to women of North Arlington in an attempt to reduce the infant mortality/maternal morbidity rate in Tarrant County.  This high risk prenatal clinic exceeded its enrollment goal four-fold in the first five months after opening.

Cheryl comes to Women’s Wellness at Flower Mound with a wealth of experience and a passion for women’s health.  Her belief is that all women deserve quality health care across the lifespan, and her personal mission is to provide patient-supported health care in a compassionate and healing environment.  Her goal is to support women and their families through education and informed decision-making during the course of a health care partnership.

Sylvie H. Paroski, M.D., Board Certified for F.A.C.O.G

Dr. Paroski has been an active physician in Flower mound for the past 15 years.  The adage “if you enjoy your work you don’t work a day in your life” is one she says applies to her and her work.

She is a graduate of Stanford Medical School, Dr Paroski completed her residency at Stanford University Hospital and she is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Specializing in well women health maintenance, complete obstetrical care, menopausal management, laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, and infertility.  She is currently the chief of Obstetrics at Presbyterian Hospital in Flower Mound.

Dr. Paroski believes that women’s healthcare should be delivered in a compassionate and personalized way and takes special care to ensure that every patient receives the attention she deserves.  She truly understands women’s specific healthcare needs.  After all, she is a woman and mother to three children! She enjoys spending time with her 3 kids and her many pugs.  Her goals are to continue to have a happy home and work life
